It's no secret that we're big fans of WebAssembly. It powers our open source work, our Compute product, and a ton of exciting projects you see frequently on Hacker News and Wasm Builders. We still get questions almost daily about how Wasm fits into the cloud, IoT, and edge computing, especially given its roots as a browser-based technology. Our team, along with the great folks at Cosmonic and Fermyon wanted an easily referenced answer as to why WebAssembly is an exciting technology for use-cases outside the browser, so we teamed up to write it!
I hope you'll check out Why WebAssembly Belongs Outside the Browser, which was co-authored by myself, Taylor Thomas from Cosmonic, and Matt Butcher from Fermyon. We had good fun working on this together, and we hope you'll enjoy it!
